You're reading: Nearly seven million views for Ukrainian band’s video

Brunettes Shoot Blondes is a Ukrainian indie-rock band formed in Kriviy Rig and currently based in Kyiv.

Formed in 2010, the band became an Internet sensation in September 2014 after releasing their video “Knock Knock,” which currently has nearly seven million views on YouTube — five million of which came in the first 10 days after its posting.

A video using 14 Apple gadgets in real time was filmed in one shot and impresses with its pithiness and simplicity.

The hit single video “Knock Knock” by Brunettes Shoot Blondes has nearly seven million YouTube views.

The idea of the animated fragments synchronized in real time belongs to the members of the band. Front man Andriy Kovalyov took on the role as director.

The plot is a love story of a rabbit man chasing a girl moving from one gadget to another in the video. The sensitive lyrics only strengthen the positive impression of the video.

The songs of the band are mostly in English and that also may be the reason of their popularity abroad.

Brunettes Shoot Blondes has already performed on various European festivals including Wybieram Wschod in Poland, OstAnders 2013 in Germany and Eastern Hipsters in Poland.

At the beginning of the year, BSB released its first mini-album “Bittersweet” and the video for a single with the same name. The video is shot in partnership with German car manufacturer Opel. The clip has the “picture in picture” effect. Music and videos are both quality stuff.

Brunettes Shoot Blondes’ latest video is Bittersweet.
