You're reading: Ruslana, saying fate of Ukraine is being decided now, calls for fight against Kremlin propaganda

“Putin
started a war in Crimea after information propaganda. Putin’s propaganda works
so that European politicians do not understand the complexity of the situation
in Ukraine,” Ruslana said during a March 11 press conference. “When I was in
Strasburg I was shown a picture depicting EuroMaidan with Hitler’s portrait
suggesting that EuroMaidan is pro-fascist. I was told in Washington that
Banderites would come to Crimea to eat Russian-speaking people there.”

Ruslana said
that Ukraine always seems to be a step behind Putin’s misinformation. The goal
is to catch up to the Kremlin propaganda and even get ahead of it.

“We have to
speak about Ukrainians rights,” she said. “We have to ask how many Ukrainians
in Crimea and in Russia are threatened to live in the conditions that Putin’s
propaganda has created.”
