U.S. President Donald J. Trump and European Council President Jean-Claude Juncker displayed a nauseating reaction to the “re-election” of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin on March 18.

Trump congratulated Putin on his “victory” and the two leaders pledged to meet soon.

Juncker tweeted: “Congratulations on your re-election, President #Putin. I have always argued that positive relations between the #EU and #Russia are crucial to the #security of our continent. Our objective should be to re-establish a cooperative pan-European security order.”

The pair should have instead chastised Putin for his farcical bid to become president for life. The thought of having Putin until 2024 is depressing enough. Anyone who poses a serious threat to the Kremlin dictator is either murdered (Boris Nemtsov), sent into exile (Garry Kasparov) or banned from running for election (Alexei Navalny).

Trump, meanwhile, continues to suck up to dictators and autocrats, ruining America’s moral standing in promoting democracy and human rights around the world. His impeachment cannot come soon enough.

Russia is a rogue terrorist state that needs to be heavily sanctioned and isolated.

Others in the West are weak too.

Instead, despite overwhelming evidence that Russia used a banned nerve gas in an attempt to murder Russian double spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter, Yulia, on March 4, in Salisbury, England, British Prime Minister Theresa May wimped out by simply expelling 23 Russian diplomats.

No wonder Putin has no respect for the U.K. It appears it’s true: the Brits are too addicted to Russian gas and Russian dirty money to get tough with the terrorist in the Kremlin.
