Forbes: Yanukovych’s party may be claiming victory, but nobody’s fooled
Once again, the current president of Ukraine, Victor Yanukovych, can claim the victory. The ruling Party of Regions – as was expected – seems to be winning most seats in Ukraine’s parliament. With the president’s most powerful opponent, Yulia Tymoshenko, imprisoned, he, under the watchful eye of the European Union and international observers, allowed for seemingly democratic elections in his country—generally satisfying the observers, as well as the representative of the country’s opposition parties, with a voting process.
