Foreign Policy: Firtash ‘biggest’ winner in Tymoshenko ‘hullabaloo’
Writing in his blog on the website of Foreign Policy magazine, Steve LeVine, the author of The Oil and the Glory and a longtime foreign correspondent, analyzes the Oct. 11 verdict that put Yulia Tymoshenko in jail for seven years. He writes that "perhaps the biggest winners from all this hullabaloo are Rosukrenergo's principal, Dmitry Firtash, who is back in the middle of the Ukrainian economy, and the white-shoe Washington law firm of Akin Gump, which has been paid top-dollar to lead the outside criminal investigation of Tymoshenko."
