Good News Week ends March 17 in Ukraine

From March 10-17, Good News Week is conducted in Ukraine. During this period
Ukrainians were asked to do something good (the Good Deeds Week is organized at
the same time) and tell about it in the framework of the Ukrainian public
project “Go Ukraine! Let’s Go.” One of the project activists, Irishman Padraig
Purcell, said: “Good news is part of human development. Development is life;
life cannot be without development. The Good News Week is an opportunity for us
to share significance and importance of positive news for development either an

Native of Lviv Oblast sews garments for pope

Halyna Barshchovska,
a native of Horodok in Lviv Oblast, is working in one of the best tailoring
shops specialized in sewing garments for cardinals and the pope. Thus, the
woman sewed a soutane for John Paul II and Benedict XVI. Lorenzo Gamareli, a co-owner
of the shop, praises the Ukrainian tailor for high quality of the work and
great ability to work. The work brings Barshchovska less $1,000 per month;
however, she has to sew a soutane per day.

Ukrainian Forbes topped five among other Forbes editions
in the world

To Miguel Forbes, the corporation president on TV and licensing, the
Ukrainian Forbes topped five Forbes editions on the activity results in 2012.
Thus, one highly praised the quality of journalist materials published in
Ukrainian edition. The rating included development dynamics, speed of new
projects, the editor’s quality work and financial figures. It’s worth informing

Ukraine and Hungary are uniting in flood control

Representatives
of Ukraine and Hungary discussed and presented a joint flood program aimed,
mostly, at restoring flood dams and constructing flood accumulating reservoirs
on the territory of the two states. The program also includes modernization of
Ukrainian-Hungarian monitoring and forecasting flood system ‘Tisa’, mainly,
update of the station and construction of new ones, development of the
communication system, restore of the automatic system on Tiachiv quality water
control.

Sumy youth promotes city via art excursions

Last year the
Sumy regional public organization Vira Project initiated a project called “communicating
freely by introducing the native town to others.” The initiative includes
conduct of art excursions for citizens and guests of Sumy by volunteers-guides.
In such a way, public activists plan both to popularize the land and to attract
the local youth to the project. The program includes both practical part
(excursions) and theoretical one consisted of 4 four-hour lessons given by a
guide-expert, a participant and co-planner of routes around historical places
of Sumy. At the lessons the participants learn more about the basic notions of
excursion activity, benefits from using artifacts and modern interpretations
for creating a city image, particularities in delivering information to
different audience, etc. The art excursions are going to be conducted on the
Day City celebrated on Sep.2.
