Ukrainian youth will be called to respect older people

On April 20, the international public movement “Live” launches a Ukrainian social project “Be quick to say main words” aimed at attracting young generation to address sympathy and attention towards the older generation, to promote a sense of gratitude and respect of children to their parents. The project includes a radio solidarity marathon, live shows “Be quick to say main words” on Emmanuel radio, a flashmob participated by Ukrainian youth organizations and movements, a charity concert in geriatric boarding-house, a charity action in a hospice and marathon-blitz with public opinion leaders.

During the period of 2012-2013, 2,117 disabled children, 1,187 of whom have physical and mental defects development, have been studying at educational institutions of Kherson Oblast.

The program ‘Inclusive education at the regional educational institutions’ by 2015 adopted in the region there have been opened 22 classes (groups) of inclusive education for 33 children with disabilities and children with special needs (intellectual, sight, ear and locomotor system defects, cerebral palsy, etc.).

The Kyiv Marathon will be April 28.

Athletes of 40 countries will run along streets of Kyiv

On April 28, Kyiv hosts the 4th Kyiv International Marathon participated by more than 2,000 athletes from 40 countries, including Africa. The marathon prize money is equal to Hr 180,000. It will be the first time when the event will be broadcast on the Ukrainian television.

In the first half of May, Kyiv, Odessa and Lviv are going to launch tourist plastic City Cards at face value of 200 and Hr 400 for 3 and 7 days, respectively. The card gives its owner an opportunity to take advantage of 10-30 percent discounts for eating at restaurants, hotel room booking, transport, medical and legal services, and to visit more than 30 museums in Kyiv (the Museum of Kyiv History and the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine ‘Pyrohovo’ included) free of charge as well.

A photo of a Ukrainian girl tops at UN photo contest

Olha Lavrushka, a Ukrainian student, won the United Nations First International Photo Contest dedicated to forest resources of the nature. The photograph titled ‘My favorite place’ was selected as one of the 6 best forest foto works among 400 pictures of young photographers sent from 40 countries. Along with the Ukrainian photo one also recognized the works of photographers from Indonesia, Turkey, Italy and Spain.
