Oblast opens training workshops for disabled youth

The psycho-neurological orphanage
in Pyriatyn, Poltava Oblast, has opened treatment and production workshops aimed
at helping disabled youth to adapt and integrate into society. The workshops focus
on pottery, shoe repair, tailoring and printing production.

The initiative was implemented
within the framework of a corporate social program, supported by the East
Europe Foundation and Ukrsotsbank.

Third
European Sustainable Energy Week takes off in Ukraine

On June 24-28, Ukraine will host the
third European Sustainable Energy Week. The week starts in Zhytomyr, with a
tour of the Yuriy Gagarin Park of Culture, which is followed by seminars, exhibits,
press tours and workshops in different Ukrainian cities. On June 24-25, there will
be a plenary meeting of the conference of mayors from member states. The event
is set to discuss the practical aspects of combining economic growth with energy
efficiency, and ways to develop alternative energy.

Mobile city guide
LvivTravelPlaces will provide free information about the west Ukrainian hub’s tourist
attractions via smartphone. The application is still being developed and the
data will be downloaded from the official city travel web-site www.lviv.travel.
The product is being developed by the Lviv City Council and the private firm Ideas
World.

in Slovenia prepare first ever Ukrainian culture fest

On September 20-22, the Ukrainian
diaspora in Žalec,
Slovenia, will hold the country’s first Ukrainian culture festival promoting
national customs and traditions. The event’s program includes folk art exhibitions,
roundtables, master classes by Ukraine artists, art competitions, concert
performances, traditional Ukrainian meals tasting and a festive concert. The
festival is planned to be held annually.

Crimea
invites to see the greatest people of the planet

The Museum of World Sculpture and
Applied Art in Yevpatoria, Crimea, opened an updated gallery of the greatest
people from across the globe. Guests will be able to see 24 busts and 156
portraits of prominent scientists, philosophers, politicians, artists and others.
The most interesting exhibit is a copy of the famous statue of Christ the
Redeemer, which stands in Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro.
