EuroMaidan ‘humanity’ stories to be published as a book

Young people of Karalyevna project began
collecting human attitude stories happened at
EuroMaidan. All materials are going to be published as ‘Euromaidan. Stories of
humanity’ book.

One of the initiators
said, ‘This
book will inspire, encourage and show our next generation that
Ukrainians are the most positive and kindest people in the
world’.

Petrykivka painting online courses are available

In December, 2013 pupils of Ukrainian secondary school in Riga were the first who got a unique opportunity to learn Petrykivka painting
via Internet. During an hour and a half lesson Ukrainians were taught to paint
main elements of Petrykivka and learned more about the art history, the village of Petrykivka
(Dnipropetrovsk region) and outstanding painting masters
of the region.

The Petrykivka

lessons are going to be organized on a regular basis so that
Ukrainian diaspora children could learn the arts anywhere.

Ukrainian publishing house illustrations are first presented in the USA

The Ukrainian institute of
America (New York)
first exhibited illustrations of a
Ukrainian publishing house ‘A-BA BA-HA-LA-MA-HA’. The exposition is called ‘For kids at the age varying from 2 to 102’.
Visitors can see works by Ukrainian illustrators made for the best publishing
house books. The exhibition
lasts until Jan.16, 2014.

Lviv invites to feel spirit and taste of Christmas

On Dec.13, Christmas
fair opened in Lviv. It is expected to taste national meals of different
countries, a 5-meter sweet roll, delicious pancakes; to attend culinary master classes and workshops, to buy exclusive
souvenirs, to have fun in various contests. The zest of the fest is a
large-scale Kolyada, Christmas Carol, to congratulate Ukraine on the upcoming holidays.

The fair also
includes the Vertep Fest (on Jan.7) and parade of stargazers
coming from different cities.

This year the
Christmas fair ends on Jan.19.

Ukrainian polar explorers are contributing into the country’s positive
image

Ukrainian polar
explorers working at the Antarctic station ‘Akademik
Vernadsky’ (located on the island of Galindez) are successful in organizing tours for foreign visitors. Thus, hardly had 2013-2014
tourist season started Ukrainians welcomed naval officers from Great Britain. Earlier
about 70 tourists from different countries had visited the station. The tourist
service package includes: excursions around the station territory where
visitors can see lifestyle, work conditions and accommodation of polar expeditors, learn more about Ukrainian scientific programs; visit the local house-museum and historical places, watching penguins, etc.

Ukrainian explorers organize 4,000-5,000 tourists per season.
