and more popular in the USA, there is a Ukrainian language group Kryivka in
Washington, D.C. (It’s worth reminding that the tavern of the same name exists
in Lviv.) The group was created by Jennifer Kid, a Peace Corps volunteer working
in Ukraine for two years. The group, launched at http://www.meetup.com,
is for people who want to speak, learn or share his knowledge about the
language with others. According to Jennifer, the group has rapidly grown for
two years and numbers nearly 200 people. The members (American volunteers,
Ukrainians who have just come to the USA and children of Ukrainian diaspora)
meet twice a month. The meetings are accompanied by Ukrainian meals and

Ukrainian flowers and
pysankas are in French children’s hearts

Ukrainian culture keeps penetrating into the French environment. This
very fact is proved by the tour of Ukrainian theater Dakh, Pinzel’s exhibition in
the Louvre and debut of Ukrainian writers at Cognac Literature Festival. Small
citizens of France were so touched by Ukrainian atmosphere that decided to show
their own perception and vision of Ukraine by making postcards. It turned out
that French kids saw Ukraine as the country of flowers, princes and pysanka
(Easter eggs).
