Kyiv bridge turned into colors of Ukrainian flags
Ukrainian activists put 30,000
yellow and blue ribbons on the Paton Bridge in Kyiv. The length of the bridge
is 1.5 kilometers. The backers wanted to show that western and eastern regions in Ukraine are united in backing freedom and democratic changes in the country. Apart from the Paton Bridge,
the activists are going to decorate the main historical sights of Kyiv in the
same color style.
Ukrainians are called to set up a song record at New Year night
Ukrainians can beat the current
song record of India, where 121,653 people sang the national anthem. At New Year
night Ukrainian people are called to come to Maidan Nezalezhnosti in Kyiv and
join setting up the Guinness Book of Records. The action in coordinated by Ukrainian singer, Ruslana. Initiators
expect about 500,000 people.

Ukrainian children in Poland and Belarus will read in Ukrainian
Kholmschyna association
launches a charitable action to send Ukrainian books to the children living in
Poland and Belarus. Such a decision was made during the meeting between
non-governmental organizations from Warsaw, Lublin, Olsztyn, Szczecin and Brest. The action is aimed
at helping Ukrainian children living abroad to maintain their native origin,
history, culture, and develop the language skills. The books can be given at
‘Kholmschyna‘ association office at 1-3 p.m. on Saturdays.
Family
of Rivne region keeps getting high-level congratulations
On
Dec. 20, the family of Movchan living in Rivne region got a New Year greeting
card from all members of the Royal family of Belgium, king Philippe, Queen
Mathilde, Princesses Elisabeth and Eléonore, and Princes Gabriel and Emmanuel. The
Ukrainian family got used to receive New Year and Christmas greetings from
monarchs, presidents, princes, heads of leading countries of the world and even
the Pope.
Intercontinental
box champion lives in Vinnytsia Oblast
Roman Holovashchenko, native of
Vinnytsia Oblast, won the Intercontinental professional box title in 91-kg+
weight category. Since 2007 Roman has been training in Germany and defended
local box clubs.
As for future plans Roman intends
to fight in the World Series of Boxing, enter a box team ‘Ukrainian atamans’
and represent Ukraine at the international competitions.
