Polish party promotes Ukrainian native to the European Parliament

The Democratic Left Alliance of Poland plans to nominate Veronika Marchuk, a famous Polish TV-journalist, Ukrainian by origin, as
a Lodz city candidate in the European Parliament. Since 2006, Marchuk
has been chairman of the Society of Ukraine. She was born in Kyiv but built
her career in Poland.

National Geographic writes about
Ukrainian Polissia region

The National
Geographic magazine, published by American Geographical Society, wrote the first article about the nature, culture and lifestyle of the Ukrainian Polissia region in northern Ukraine,
particularly. The text on series of expeditions around forests of Zhytomyr Oblast is well illustrated with high-class photos. The magazine plans to
prepare and publish more articles on the region, Chernobyl zone, culture of
herbs consumption, rare flora and fauna, for instance.

 Successful women of Chernivtsi are helping children with cancer

A special calendar
for 2014 was presented by the Chernivtsi Oblast Fund for cancer and leukemia-stricken children.
The calendar features pictures of successful women and sells for $12. All the funds collected will be
given to sick children in Chernivtsi Oblast. The project lasts until the end of 2014.

Taras Shevchenko museum in Moshny opens after reconstruction

Local authorities of
Moshny village opened the Taras Shevchenko museum after reconstruction. The designers could preserve the spirit of the 19th
century, unique photos, icons, memories, furniture, rushnyky (Ukrainian
embroidered towels) and other items of the village lifestyle. The museum complex
also includes a house, stable, well and a cellar. The museum area is 1,540
square meters.

Tourism of Chernivtsi Oblast to be presented in Berlin and Budapest

This spring
Ukraine, Romania and
Moldova will promote the tourist potential of Chernivtsi Oblast to people in Berlin and Budapest. The presentations are planned
within a new joint project to develop five new tourist tours on the territory of
three countries. The project duration is two years and the cost is €700,000.
