Dnipropetrovsk enters the Association of European New Year Cities

Dnipropetrovsk became a member of the Association of European New Year Cities. The New Year in Dnipropetrovsk is the biggest in Ukraine and one of the largest ones in Europe in the number of lanterns and lights, more than three million of them. There is unique 14 meter hi-tech New Year tree in the center of the town, about 100 other decorated trees, the only in Ukraine luminous fountain lighted with 40,000 LEDs, figures of forest animals and fairy-tale characters. The town works until Jan.13.

New Year run for charity takes place

Kyiv on Dec. 23 was the venue for New Year’s charity run “Happy New Year Run 2013.” Hundreds of people dresses in costumes of Santa Claus, Snow Maidens, Batman and other fairytale characters will run a three- kilometer distance. The race will end with solemn award ceremony, lottery and various contests. All collected funds will be donated to Ladyzhin orphanage Troyandy in Vinnytsia Oblast.

Ukrainian strongmen are launching new sports fashion worldwide

Next year Street Workout Ukraine will promote its sports fashion and Ukraine in general worldwide.

In January, the Ukrainian public organization Street Workout Ukraine will be given international status. Members of the movement are engaged in sports and popularizing a healthy lifestyle. The organization was founded in Dnipropetrovsk; for 2012 year young people have conducted above 500 around Ukraine and equipped more than 250 outside sports grounds.
