Mark Adomanis: Is the crisis in Ukraine the new normal?
Most people who write and think about the ongoing crisis in Ukraine (including your humble author) seem to operate from the assumption that some kind of policy is capable of swiftly “fixing” it. The policies bandied about as solutions differ greatly depending on the author and their point of view. Some people have argued for US and EU sanctions targeted at the Russian political elite, some have demanded generous financial assistance for the new Ukrainian government, some have called for immediate NATO intervention on behalf of Kiev, while others have suggested some sort of grand bargain in which all the interested parties sit down together and hash out their differences.
