Paul Roderick Gregory: Does the Geneva agreement defuse the Ukrainian crisis? Not according to Russian TV
If Russia is at all serious about implementing the terms of the Geneva Agreement, it would to cease its non-stop TV propaganda against the Ukrainian “fascists and extremists” and in praise of the brave “self defense forces” occupying municipal buildings and taking over police stations. Today’s (Easter Sunday’s) sampling of of NTV Russian television revealed no slow down. Today’s segments show the head of the “Donbass Self-defense Committee” excoriating Kiev radicals for breaking the Geneva agreement, the head of the Slavyansk “self defense forces” pleading with Putin to send help against the Kiev fascists, and Slavyansk self-defense officers reporting that one of their own was slaughtered in cold blood by three fascist murderers working on behalf of Kiev. These are not promising signs.
