Her discovery can save oncology patients’ life

Olha Brovarets, 30 y.o., the youngest Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences in Ukraine (she was given the degree at the age of 29 years), senior fellow at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics in Kyiv, made a discovery that can guarantee full recovery from cancer and diseases caused by mutations.

It is known that there are 23 pairs of chromosomes in a human body, each chromosome contains a DNA molecule, carrier of all genetic information resembling a twisted spiral. The spiral untwisted looks like a clear geometric structure, however, mutated pairs look different. Up to now it was unclear how they managed to embed in the spiral, cause diseases and changes in the body.

Olha managed to calculate a pattern by which mutated pairs embedded in the basic spiral of DNA. All calculations have been performed on a powerful computer server of the institute. The experiments with a real DNA in Ukraine was technically impossible. However, the Americans have tested Olha’s calculations and confirmed them with real results.

Made in Ukraine: battery that can work for 12 years

Under the guidance of Vladyslav Kiselev, the senior researcher of the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry and Petrochemistry of NAS of Ukraine, Ukrainian scientists managed to invent a battery that can work for 12 years, half-life of tritium.

As the scientist says the battery can replace the ones used for mobile phones and cars, ‘My battery does not accumulate the energy but produces it. I used natural properties of tritium (one of hydrogen isotopes) and fuel cell (electrochemical device) instead of the solar battery. This battery is a thousand times more productive than its American analogue. I have to add that this kind of cell came up in the 30’s of last century in Ukraine. They were used in the economy but none could produce energy from it. We managed to do it because we could improve the cell. Everything was done at our expense’.

One businessman from Turkey is interested in the invention, negotiations with Chinese business community on funding establishment of enterprise to manufacture batteries for cell phones are being conducted. If the project is successful mobile phones will not depend on electrical outlets.
