Olena Chubich,
restaurant administrator
“I am for EU integration, but I wouldn’t do anything myself and what can I do actually? Ordinary people can’t change anything here, just our authorities. All these protests are useless.”
Mykhailo Bolilyi,
pensioner
“I do support EU integration; I’ve lived under Russia and didn’t see anything good. I did protest against what I thought wasn’t right back in 2004 and I would do it again.”
Maryna Shopina,
university professor
“I am not really for EU integration or against. I think maybe there should be a compromise. What about the association agreement? I am not against it, but I don’t think that it is very important for us now. But I wouldn’t do anything like protesting, it seems useless.”
Olena Petroshenko,
student
“People say this association agreement is going to bring something good, a better level of life. Maybe I would go to the street to support EU integration if there is a need, but I think our authorities actually support this direction, too.”
Ihor Sydorchuk,
lawyer
“I did protest back in 2004, but I wouldn’t now. I think now petitions and open letters are more efficient. Authorities got used to protests and don’t react, while a well written paper can do a good service, I think. I didn’t write anything yet for EU integration in particular, but I probably will.”
