Pavlo Gudimov

musician, owner of “Ya Gallery”.

“I’m mulling two options for the May holidays. Leaving for the Lithuanian capital, Vilnius, with friends, is the first one. The second one is to go to my dacha (country cottage) near Kyiv. I haven’t chosen yet. Holidays are good time to reflect on some ideas or plans. I’m always happy to meet with friends coming to my dacha. We enjoy time walking in the very beautiful forest or picnicking.”

Viktor Andrienko
Actor and showman

“Actually, I will have no holidays. I am in the middle of shooting something. I’m really busy from dawn till dusk. But if I had free time I would go to the Crimea or Uzhgorod, Zakarpatska region, because I like mountains, the best place to rest from the routine.”

Milan Ekert
The second secretary of Embassy of Czech Republic in Kyiv

“I’m waiting for guests from Czechia and I’m ready to be their guide in Kyiv. Sightseeing will surely include st. Sophia Cathedral, st. Michael’s Golden-Domed Cathedral, Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. I find museum of Chornobyl very interesting; its exhibits render the immensity of the tragedy in the Nuclear Plant. I want my friends to taste traditional Ukrainian cuisine and I think we’ll visit some Czech restaurant.”

Marius Janukonis
Minister Plenipotentiary of Embassy of Lithuania in Kyiv

“No plans for the May 1. It’ll be my only day-off and that’s good because there’s no need to slow down. I hope the weather will be nice so I can stroll about beautiful Kyiv parks, especially the Botanical gardens that are going to burst into bloom. May holidays are wonderful opportunity to spend a whole day in the open air.”

Reno Domenico
President of Democrats Abroad Ukraine
“May Day is International Workers’ holiday so I’m planning to visit the ceremony near Lenin’s monument standing near Bessarabsky rynok. I won’t join the demonstration because Communists are not my political party but I do recognize the day. It will certainly be the day full of activities downtown, and I will just relax in some fine place. On the 9th of May I’ll hold up my tradition of visiting Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and joining the celebration of Victory Day.”
