Olha Izhyk, student

I won’t search for Russian products on purpose and, to tell the truth, I hadn’t thought about this issue before you asked me. I don’t think it’s the Russians who boycott Ukrainian goods. This is a political game.

Sasha Stupakovska, student

Nobody will boycott. This is stupid. Maybe in the first couple of days people can do it out of principle. But then you understand that you cannot live without a particular Russian product that you are used to buying.

Ivan Vovkodav, pensioner

Our people won’t boycott Russian products. Political motives are the major reason for this. Russia wants to create an empire and it is impossible without Ukraine.

Ksenia Biktemirova, on maternity leave

Personally I don’t buy Russian products. I can’t speak for everybody, but maybe we are ready. I buy goods abroad. I can’t say that I like either Ukrainian or Russian quality. We can limit ourselves to Ukrainian products. Although I am from Kazan, I had no desire to buy Russian products now, or even before this incident.

Polina Bril, pensioner, school caretaker

Personally I don’t boycott Russian products. I am against all wars and boycotts. I still think that Russia and Ukraine are countries that should exist together, like in the Soviet Union.

Olexander Kostash, works in film industry

We are not ready to boycott Russian products because we are stupid. Ukrainians don’t respect themselves. Until people will start to respect themselves, the situation won’t change. Ukrainian nationals are slaves by definition.
