You're reading: Electric Cars: an apportunity to save resources and environment

It is true that electric cars got the limelight only a few years back but, they were around for a good number of years, say almost as long as we had others running on petrol and diesel.

With governments across the countries getting serious about CO2 emissions and environmental pollution, a good number of automobiles have taken the electric cars seriously. They have now made it a point to invest on them.

One of the serious issues with electric cars is the battery life, recharge points and battery charging time. The manufacturers have taken care of it and so now more and more number of electric cars has hit the road.

Apart from the above mentioned advantages, electric cars get 100% power from the electric motors which help them to boost acceleration even when they are at a very low speed. Moreover, the engine takes very less space.

A number of manufacturers have come up with electric cars and some of the top ones according to me are:

  1. Renault ZOE hatchback

It is one of the cheap cars out there in the market and is based on the Renault Clio. It comes with monthly battery rental but the smooth drive that it gives you compensates it. They are not large in size and so can be your best partner when you want to drive around the city. The car is noiseless and can go up to 100miles. The new battery upgrade has changed the things, which helps you to reach up to 250 miles.

  1. Ford Focus electric hatchback

If you want to try out an electric car from Ford, there you have the Ford Focus. The car is smooth and especially good for the drivers. Even though it takes up a good amount of space for the battery, it is one of the best examples of electric cars compared to the ones that drive on petrol and diesel. According to Rachel Lord from Focus Cars, “Ford is all set to come up with a technology, which will make parking a lot easier”. He added, “I expect this feature to bring down the repair bills that occur due to accidents that happen in the parking lots”.

  1. Hyundai Ioniq Electric

Hyundai has come up with an impressive electric car which has an electric motor of 118bhp. They guarantee that the car will cover 174 miles with a fully charged battery which is more than enough when you want to travel around throughout the day. This single reason has managed to get it on the top of other electric cars in the market. The car is stylish and the looks are enough to attract the customers.

  1. Tesla Model S hatchback

When it comes to electric cars, Tesla Model S hatchback is definitely a good fit. The recent revamp has made the car more stylish. The car is quite costly still, it has managed to make up a good fan following. The car can run 0-62mph within 2.6 seconds and comes with a battery life which can take you around 280 – 300 miles depending on the model you choose.

Apart from these cars, a good number of manufacturers like BMW, Nissan, Volkswagen, etc. has made it a point to contribute towards coming up with a car that match the taste  of the car lovers as well as stays in tune with the environment. So if you are having any plans to buy one, why not try an electric car this time?
