You're reading: Radisson Blu Hotel, Kyiv – It’s Time for Change!

Radisson Blu Hotel, Kyiv, located near the Ukrainian capital’s spectacular Golden Gate monument, has just renovated 88 rooms on two floors. Jesper Henriksen, General Manager of Radisson Blu Hotel, Kyiv and City Director, describes the unique new living spaces awaiting guests.

When we entered the market back in 2005, we were the first international hotel chain to start operating in Kyiv. Our rooms had three design schemes – Maritime, Scandinavian and Italian. This was something unique in the market in terms of service and product. Even today, some of our first guests still stay with us and pick their favourite rooms according to their design scheme.

But nothing stays the same. Our guests change, and we need to keep up with the evolution of our guests’ lifestyles. Our hotel rooms must match our guest’s expectations and activities.

So this spring, after 12 years of operating on the Kyiv market, Radisson Blu Hotel, Kyiv presented extensively renovated rooms on two floors, introducing the kind of new, modern, and stylish interior concepts that are the hallmark of the Radisson Blu brand around the world. And this is the second stage of the planned renovation of the entire hotel.

The new room designs were created by Lundwall Architects – a well-known Nordic design bureau, which adapts traditional Nordic design to compliment unique and original settings, breaking from typical hotel themes. The new rooms of the Radisson Blu Hotel, Kyiv combine simplicity, minimalism and functionality in a way that perfectly matches the tastes of the hotel’s multinational mix of guests.

The renovation process covered everything, from walls, floors and ceilings, to furniture and lamps. The living space in some of the rooms has been completely rearranged. The use of a combination of various materials and colours, such as grey and violet, also creates a uniquely restful atmosphere in the rooms. Industrial elements and forms are also gracefully combined with natural wooden elements and textiles, and the ambiance is complemented through the addition of a lot of mirrors, glass surfaces and lamps.

The new interiors provide more multi-functional and flexible spaces, resulting in an emotionally engaging and individual experience, and demonstrating a perfect fusion of form and function. Special attention has been paid to the functionality of our guests’ rooms, with a dedicated working zone and gadget plugins installed near the bed in Standard rooms, separate working tables and a welcoming lounge area in Junior Suites, and a spacious living room with a comfortable sofa, round table and a bar counter in Suites.

The renovation of the rooms was conducted in line with the Radisson Hotel Group’s global strategy of providing our guests with a world-class experience at all levels.

The renovation plans don’t only concern guest rooms: earlier in the spring of 2017, the Radisson Blu Hotel, Kyiv fully renovated its conference area, offering the Ukrainian market a brand new meetings and events venue. It features the latest audio and visual equipment and a sophisticated design suitable for a wide range of events, from high-level conferences to wedding receptions.

We want our guests to feel part of a unique way of life – one that’s truly made to match each location.”
