On December 5, 2016 in InterContinental Kyiv Hotel the first ceremony of International Hospitality Awards® 2016 was held.
The nominees of International Hospitality Awards® in 2016 were the hotels from 8 countries: Ukraine, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Moldova, Romania, Bulgaria, Georgia. The nominees were proportionally assessed on the basis of the professional opinion of the Jury Members (50%) and consumers’ rating in the international online Booking systems: Booking.com (25%) and TrustYou.com (25%). Thus, not only opinion of the Jury Members influenced on results but also guests` impression. The Jury Board consists of 2 experts from each of 8 participating countries and 3 honored Jury members – world famous representatives of hospitality industry.
The main factors that determine the reputation of the Awards and the confidence of participants are transparency and objectivity. Participation is free of charge for all the nominees and every hotel could take part in the Awards. Official Auditor of International Hospitality Awards® is the international auditing company RSM.
Host of the ceremony was VolodymyrOstapchuk. The black tie event brought together leading European hoteliers, general managers of hotels-finalists, global hospitality industry experts, diplomats, representatives of the companies with a worldwide reputation, and journalists. Honorary guests of the ceremony were the Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania, Bulgaria and Georgia to Ukraine.

The Awards washeld by HOTELIERO Club that used to organize Ukrainian Hospitality Awards® since 2011. After 5 years of honoring the best hotels in Ukraine it has been decided to withdraw to the international level and launch International Hospitality Awards®.
