You're reading: A workspace revolution: CEO of BeeWorking Ilya Bezruchko on Kyiv’s new working environment

There’s a revolution going on in the way we work, and where we work.

Modern technology has made it possible to work anywhere, anytime. Access to the internet, a laptop, and a smartphone are all you need to pursue a freelance career. Kyiv, a modern city in the heart of Europe with good internet speeds and a low cost of living, is one of the world’s most freelancer-friendly cities.

The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated a shift from office-based to remote working that was already underway due to advances in technology. People around the world have discovered that working remotely is not just practical, but desirable: For one thing, there’s no need for that long commute to the office, with hours wasted on expensive transport.

Of course, working remotely isn’t for everyone. Working at home, with the distractions of family and the fridge, can dent productivity. Working freelance can also be isolating, especially if you’re used to a busy office environment. The best remote and freelance workers are disciplined self-starters, but even they can’t just work anywhere – they need, at the minimum, a desk in a place where they can work without interruptions or distractions.

Going coworking

Now, with the introduction of modern coworking spaces like BeeWorking in Kyiv’s fashionable Podil and Holosiyivsky districts, freelancers and remote workers can do much better than the minimum.
BeeWorking’s coworking spaces bring all the important aspects of life together in one place. Yes, it’s a working space, with desks, access to high-speed internet, printers and copiers, and the all-important coffee machine. However, BeeWorking believes a working environment should be much richer than that. In tandem with the revolution in the way people work, we want to offer people a revolutionary new type of workspace.

So along with fixed and non-fixed workplaces, the option to rent separate offices and book meeting rooms, technical support, a range of partner services, and (of course!) coffee machines, BeeWorking’s clients gain access to a range of perks and features that match and then beat the best traditional company offices.

These features cover:

Health: BeeWorking’s coworking spaces include a gym where clients work out without wasting time going to and from a sports club. There are showers, and a kitchen with additional accessories for fresh juices and smoothies;

R&R: Clients can also take a break in the comfort of BeeWorking’s café and lounge area, or to meditate on its terrace – break times are just as important for maintaining productivity for freelancers as they are for workers in conventional office environments;

Community: BeeWorking clients join a community of fellow remote workers and freelancers, with the opportunity to chat, collaborate, and find new friends;

Entertainment: Clients can play table tennis, board games, and attend coworking events;

Family: Drop off the kids in BeeWorking’s fully equipped playroom, and invite family and friends for coffee in the lounge or coworking café.

BeeWorking Ethos

BeeWorking wants to create a network of coworking spaces that will change people’s attitude to office work. Ever forgotten to eat or skipped lunch because there was just too much work on your plate? Sacrificed a night out with friends, or a visit to the gym, or missed out on spending time on a hobby?

We believe that the happiest and successful people are those who manage to combine hard, productive work with spending time on their physical and mental wellbeing, socializing with friends and colleagues, and developing themselves through education and interests.

So we build spaces where all off these life goals can be comfortably and conveniently combined. We’re open 24/7, so Night Owls will find our spaces ideal, but no matter when your working day begins, we want our clients at the end of it to feel they’ve had a busy and productive day, having had time not just to work, but to maintain a balanced diet, keep fit, and perhaps practice some self-education as well.

BeeWorking’s coworking spaces are conveniently located, and our network is growing fast: the space in Holosiyivskiy district is to be a massive 4,700 square meters in area, and in the spring of 2021 we’re opening a new space in the Lukyanivka area of Kyiv, a five-minute walk from the metro.

How does it work?

BeeWorking offers monthly plans on a flexible range of working spaces. Clients can work in our BeeHive zone – just pick a free space, open up a laptop and get down to work – rent fixed working space, available at all times, or opt for a private office. Space can also be reconfigured to meet the needs of a small company with several workers.

Payment can be made by a simple card transfer, and there’s no commission fee. The only other things you need to book space are your passport and Tax Identification Number. Need to take a break? Freelancers can freeze the rent on their space for a period of up to 14 days every six months in the BeeHive open space and lounge area.

In Kyiv for a short time on business and need a place to hold a meeting? Our stylish conference rooms at BeeWorking in Holosiyivka are available for rent by the hour. So try out the BeeWorking coworking experience: Order a free test period of five hours on our Facebook page or website beeworking.ua during office hours.
