You're reading: AVK denies production of sweets in Ukraine uncontrolled area

AVK Confectionary LLC (Kyiv), one of the largest confectionary producers in Ukraine, has denied information spread in the Facebook social network that the company is producing its products in the Ukraine uncontrolled area.

“AVK is a national confectionery company that produces its products in Ukraine only at the industrial site in Dnipro. The information spread in the Facebook social network and by media that the company produces sweets in the territory beyond Ukraine’s control, is untrue,” the company said in an official statement on its website.

The company said that the indication of Donetsk as the production address on the price tag of the “Bam-buk” delicacy produced by the company sold in the Auchan store chain is a consequence of a misunderstanding.

“There is an assumption that as a result of the recent virus cyber attack on Ukrainian websites a failure occurred in the Auchan database. Now, the Auchan chain is conducting an official investigation of the unpleasant incident. We are waiting for the official results, which we will immediately publish and we will keep an eye on the issue,” AVK said.

In turn, Auchan Ukraine Hypermarket LLC has already made a statement, in which they apologized for distributing unreliable information on the label of AVK products.
