You're reading: Citibank thanks its clients

Dear clients!

It’s been another year when Citi had a privilege to help to unlock the potential of the Ukrainian market and be a part of the country’s progress by providing support through high-quality services to the public sector, multinationals and foreign investors that would like to invest in the local market.

We are committed to delivering on Citi’s global mission of enabling growth and progress by offering best in class global and local solutions, acting as a trusted advisor to clients and participants of the industry of financial services and supporting impactful social programs and initiatives.

In Ukraine, Citi began its operations more than 20 years and we are honored to provide the full suite of services you would expect from a large international bank to the corporate and public sectors here, including cash management, trade finance, corporate finance and lending, FX, security services and custody type services.

We believe that Citi has a unique perspective on what investors look for when evaluating opportunities in emerging markets. Over the years, Citi has played a strong role in supporting and facilitating investment into Ukraine, both for companies physically entering and doing business in the country, and also in facilitating financial investments from abroad, both in local and the Eurobond markets.

As one of the recent examples, starting from May 2019, Clearstream, the international central securities depository (ICSD) of Deutsche Börse Group, linked the Ukrainian market to its network and made Ukrainian government securities eligible in its system. Citi is acting as a cash correspondent bank and local operator of Clearstream’s account at the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU). This joint initiative has already encouraged an increase in demand for Ukrainian government bonds, boosting liquidity and their attractiveness in the international market.

Wherever a new year brings and wherever our clients aim to succeed, we are committed to helping them invest, finance, and grow.

Thank you for our productive cooperation in 2019 and we wish you all the best in the upcoming 2020.

Sincerely,

Alexander McWhorter, head of Citi Ukraine, managing director, and the team
