The Kyiv District Administrative Court has refused to satisfy the lawsuit against the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) with the demand to revoke the regulator’s decision to declare PrivatBank insolvent and introduce temporary administration in the financial institution.

According to the website of the NBU, the court made the relevant ruling on Sept. 12.

The report states the plaintiff was PrivatBank’s client D. Kasyanenko. In addition to the NBU, the defendants are the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Individuals’ Deposit Guarantee Fund with the participation of third parties, namely the Ministry of Finance and PrivatBank itself.

The plaintiff applied to the court in December 2016. After investigating the circumstances of the case, the Kyiv District Administrative Court issued the decision that completely refused satisfaction of the claim.

As reported, on Dec. 18, 2016 the government at the suggestion of the National Bank of Ukraine and the shareholders of PrivatBank, the largest of whom at the time were Ihor Kolomoisky and Hennadiy Boholiubov, decided to nationalize this largest financial institution in the Ukrainian market.
