You're reading: Economy Ministry worsens forecast for Ukraine’s GDP growth

The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade has worsened the forecast for the growth of Ukraine’s real gross domestic product (GDP) in 2019 to 2.8 percent from 3 percent.

Such data are contained in the macroeconomic review of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, posted on the ministry’s website.

At the same time, the forecast of nominal GDP this year was improved to Hr 4.080 trillion from Hr 3.947 trillion.

The forecast for real GDP growth in 2020 is maintained at the level of 3.8 percent, in 2021 at 4.1 percent.

The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade also improved the forecast for the hryvnia to U.S. dollar exchange rate to Hr 29/$1 from Hr 29.7/$1 in 2020 and to Hr 29.8/$1 from Hr 30.4/$1 in 2021.

The forecast of the hryvnia exchange rate in 2019 is maintained at the level of Hr 28.2 per $1.
