Car production in Ukraine in January-March, according to preliminary data from the Ukrautoprom association, increased by 79 percent compared to the same period in 2016, to 1,121 cars, while all the cars were produced by PJSC Eurocar (Zakarpattia region), the manufacturer of Skoda cars.
According to the association, in the first quarter of 2016 almost all cars were also produced by Eurocar, out of 627 cars produced in Ukraine only four vehicles were manufactured by Zaporizhia Automobile Plant.
Thus, Eurocar for the first quarter of this year increased production by 80 percent.
In March Eurocar produced 562 vehicles, which is 2.2 times higher than in March 2016.
Thus, car production at ZAZ and Bogdan Corporation continues standing idle.
At the same time, in January-March ZAZ produced 158 other vehicles, including 153 commercial vehicles and five buses (in the same period of 2016 only four cars), of which in March 44 commercial and two buses.
