You're reading: Ex-PrivatBank owners file claims seeking to collect Hr 8.9 billion from bank

Companies affiliated with former owners of PrivatBank (Kyiv) have filed 92 claims seeking to collect Hr 8.913 billion from the bank, according to a presentation of the bank.

According to the document, in general, the number of claims against the bank totals 2,902 seeking to collect Hr 20.185 billion.

PrivatBank Board Chairman Oleksandr Shlapak said that the bank filed claims seeking to collect Hr 23.8 billion.

“The total sum for the claims we have filed is Hr 2.8 billion. This is not only former shareholders [of the bank], but including them,” he told reporters after a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on July 4.

As reported, former owner of PrivatBank Ihor Kolomoisky on June 9 filed a claim to Pechersky district court of Kyiv demanding the termination of guarantee agreements.

According to the public register of court cases, defenders in the claim are the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) and PrivatBank.
