You're reading: FlixBus and Ukrainian bus stations agree on cooperation

The bus operator FlixBus (Germany) has officially begun cooperation with the Ukrainian Association of Bus Stations, according to the company’s website.

“The memorandum, which was signed by the parties in Kharkiv on March 12, formally secured the intentions of FlixBus and Ukrainian bus stations to develop together, prioritizing the interests and comfort of passengers and combining efforts to develop the transport market in Ukraine,” the report says.

FlixBus wants the bus stops in each city to be at the main bus stations, which are actually interchange hubs.

The parties also agreed on common criteria for cooperation: the bus stations are aimed at cooperation with FlixBus in two directions: as points of sale of tickets and as stops on upcoming routes in Ukraine. In turn, FlixBus will share its experience and knowledge on European travel standards and will support the promotion of Ukraine in the world and in attracting more passengers to the country.

“FlixBus is always trying to stop at the main bus stations, which play the role of a transfer hub – there passengers can transfer to different types of transport, relax and buy tickets at the box office. We want to cooperate with Ukrainian bus stations on the basis of mutual benefit and trust, and become a partner for them in new opportunities for their development and modernization,” Michal Leman, the Managing Director of FlixBus in Ukraine and Poland, said.

As reported, FlixBus plans in 2020 to develop domestic routes in Ukraine.

FlixBus, developing bus transportation in Europe and the United States, was founded in 2013. It works according to a partnership model with regional bus carriers that provide their buses and documents on routes, while FlixBus is engaged in sales, marketing and schedule management.
