You're reading: German investment in Ukraine reaches $1.8 billion in January-September 2017

The amount of German investment in the Ukrainian economy in January-September 2017 grew by $213 million year-over-year, to $1.8 billion, including $1.1 billion of investment in industry, the Economic Development and Trade Ministry has reported.

“The most popular area for German investment in Ukraine is production of auto parts and knots where over 30,000 jobs have been created, in particular in the past year 2,000 jobs,” the ministry said on its Facebook page.

Bilateral trade between Ukraine and Germany over the period grew by 27 percent, to $6.6 billion. Ukrainian export to Germany rose by 23 percent, to $1.6 billion, the ministry said.

“The most popular goods for exports were electric machines, seeds and oilseeds, ores, timber and metal products,” the ministry said.
