Sweden’s IKEA, the largest furniture and household goods retailer in the world, has announced the launch of the official website for Ukrainian consumers and recruiting staff for its first store in Kyiv.
“As the next step of the development plan in Ukraine, IKEA is pleased to announce the launch of a website for Ukrainian consumers… In addition, the company began recruiting staff (about 100 employees) for its first city format store in Kyiv,” the company said in a press release.
IKEA is looking for employees of sales and customer service, logistics and interior design.
The company recalled that the opening of the IKEA urban format store in Kyiv is scheduled for the end of 2019. It will offer a wide range of more than 6,000 commodity items, as well as a list of services and solutions for the home.
As reported, in September 2018, IKEA officially announced the opening of the first store in Ukraine in a city store format in 2019. The store should have been opened in Ocean Mall in Kyiv. Later IKEA had to adjust its plans to enter the Ukrainian market due to the delayed construction of the Ocean Mall trade and entertainment center in Kyiv, in particular, the company is considering alternative ways for launching business in Ukraine.
The development of the network in Ukraine will be under the aegis of IKEA Southeast Europe, which is part of the IKEA Group (Ingka Holding B.V.). The company is engaged in retail business IKEA in Croatia, Serbia, Romania and Slovenia.
