Industrial production in Ukraine in September 2017 decreased by 0.3 percent compared to the same month in 2016, while in August it increased by 1.2 percent, the State Statistics Service has said.

The agency said taking into account adjustment for the effect of calendar days, industrial production in September 2017 from September 2016 declined by a mere 0.1 percent.

It said in comparison with the previous month, in September this year industrial production grew by 2.5 percent, however, taking into account the seasonal factor, a decrease of 0.4 percent was recorded.

Growth in processing industry in September 2017 from September 2016 was 1.2 percent, in mining and quarrying industry 0.1 percent, while the supply of electricity, gas, steam and conditioned air decreased by 3.4 percent.

According to the report, in general, in the nine months of 2017 industrial production in Ukraine fell by 0.3 percent compared to the same period in 2016, while in the eight months the lag was 0.4 percent, seven months some 0.7 percent.

The rise in processing industry in January-September was 3.6 percent, in mining and quarrying industry some 0.6 percent, while the supply of electricity, gas, steam and conditioned air fell by 5.7 percent.
