You're reading: Inflation in Ukraine slows down in May, rises in annual terms

Inflation in Ukraine in May 2019 was 0.7 percent compared to 1 percent in April, 0.9 percent in March, 0.5 percent in February and 1 percent in January, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine has reported.

According to its data, in annual terms consumer price growth in May of this year accelerated to 9.6 percent from 8.8 percent in April and 8.6 percent in March.

In May, underlying inflation dropped to 0.2 percent, while in April it stood at 0.4 percent, in March at 1.2 percent, in February at 0.2 percent, and in January at 0.3 percent. In annual terms, it remained at the level of April at 7.4 percent against 7.6 percent in March, 7.8 percent in February, and 8.3 percent in January.
