You're reading: Infrastructure Ministry plans reforming Ukrtransbezpeka

Infrastructure Minister of Ukraine Vladyslav Krykliy has reported about the plans “to restart” State Service of Ukraine for Transport Safety (Ukrtransbezpeka).

“I’ll be looking very attentively at Ukrtransbezpeka now…in order to restart it. It is necessary to radically change the situation because it works in the format of the past traffic police instead of being a civil-oriented service that would make all processes automatic as much as possible,” Krykliy said on air with 112 Ukraine TV channel.

He has said that after Ukrtransbezpeka is reformed Ukraine’s roads “will live longer” because oversize transportation loads, which is the main cause of road destruction, will be eliminated.

According to the minister, this would also be facilitated by the introduction of Ukravtodor’s automatic weigh-in-motion (WiM) systems and the transfer of communication of Ukrtransbezpeka inspectors from the road (communication with the driver) directly to the back office (communication with the cargo owner).

Krykliy has stressed that ministry’s team reshuffle is a key priority task set for today since the previous staff of the ministry had a perfect external communication whereas internal communication was completely absent.
