According to him, payment of dividends in such amount fully complies with the requirements of the law on state property management, while the government resolution, which sets a 90 percent norm of dividend payment for Naftogaz, was halted by a court decision.

Kobolev noted that the company within preparation for winter, in the event of Gazprom’s possible interruption of gas transit from Jan. 1, 2020, intends to pump additional volumes of gas into underground storage facilities, bringing them to 20 billion cubic meters by the beginning of the heating season.

“In addition, if to buy gas now, at a low summer price, it will help balance the price of gas in the winter months, when it traditionally increases. To pump additional gas volumes, we need money, we must additionally find about $600 million now. Any interruption in injection will make the target of 20 billion cubic meters unachievable,” he stressed.
