Ukraine in 2020 will be able to receive at least $10 billion from the IPO of Naftogaz Ukrainy and the exchange sale of a 15 percent stake in the company if its reforming is successful, Head of Naftogaz Andriy Kobolev has said at a press conference in Kyiv.

“If the Verkhovna Rada at some point decides to place a minority stake on the stock exchange (IPO) – this, according to our estimates, can bring at least $10 billion,” he said.

Kobolev said this figure does not apply to the GTS (gas transmission system), since it is planned to separate it from Naftogaz Ukrainy.

He stressed the IPO and the successful development of Naftogaz is possible only along with the full implementation of the company’s reform plan.

“In fact, an IPO is important not only because of budget revenues – it is very important to consolidate and make irreversible changes in the company,” he said.
