The Digital Transformation of Kyiv campaign from Google Ukraine has become the 11th digitalization event after Lviv and nine more regions, Google Ukraine Head Dmytro Sholomko said at a press conference in Dnipro on May 18.

Under the project the company opened access to over 150 3D panoramas included in over 10 3D tours.

He said that the project implemented in cooperation with the Kyiv City Council is intended to increase investment and tourist attractiveness of the region using modern Internet tools.

Sholomko said that the Discover Kyiv Region website contains information about the most interesting places of the region. This resource expanded earlier created regional projects on the discover.net.ua portal.

Deputy Head of Kyiv City Administration Yuriy Nazarov said that the project was actively cooperating with the tourism department of Kyiv.

“We put seven layers on the Kyiv.Maps resource, where you can find information on the business, art, sports, music, theater, children’s events, and sort them relative to the location nearby. We paid special attention to sports events,” he said.

According to Nazarov, more than 800 different events take place every week in Kyiv. At the same time, the city administration plans to continue cooperation with the Google Ukraine team and before the end of 2018 to put information about all infrastructure facilities in Kyiv on interactive maps.

He said that more than 3,000 socially significant facilities, including educational institutions, medical and sports facilities, were added to Google maps and verified in the framework of the “Digitizing Kyiv” project.

As part of the campaign, the Sport.Kyiv page was also created, where information about all important sports locations for the city with a convenient and simple search was added.

As previously reported by Manager of Public Relations at Google Ukraine Marina Tarasova, it takes about six to nine months to prepare a campaign in one area.

Representatives of Google Ukraine have not yet reported which area and when will be digitized next under the project.
