NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy’s Supervisory Board on Dec. 17 approved a draft financial plan for the group in 2020, which is based on singling out its gas transit business from its structure, Naftogaz CEO Andriy Kobolev has said.

“The withdrawal of the entire transport business from the Naftogaz group, given the existing market rules, will cost us as a group about minus Hr 13 billion in net profit next year. The negative impact on liquidity will be a little more,” he said in Kyiv on Dec. 18.

He clarified that the financial plan provides for certain sales of assets, so the immediate negative financial effect of the unbundling is greater, however, despite this, the group will remain profitable.

“The Naftogaz group should demonstrate profitable activity next year, according to the financial plan,” he added.
