One-, two-, and five-kopiyka coins will cease to be legal tender in Ukraine and will go out of circulation, according to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).
NBU Governor Yakiv Smoliy said at a briefing on June 25 that these coins will go out of circulation, effective October 1, 2019.
In addition, the 25-kopiyka coin will continue to be used as legal tender for now, but will be phased out eventually, Smoliy said.
