You're reading: Poroshenko, delegates of Keidanren Japan Business Federation discuss investment

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and delegates of the Committee for Business Cooperation with Ukraine of Keidanren Japan Business Federation led by Chairman of Marubeni Corporation Teruo Asada met in Kyiv on May 30 to discuss prospects for cooperation between the two countries.

“The parties discussed ways to expand investment and trade-economic cooperation between Ukraine and Japan,” the presidential press service said.

Teruo Asada noted that Ukraine had become one of the most promising states in terms of business and investment due to the reforms it had conducted in past few years.

In this context, the parties praised the holding of the joint meeting of the Coordinating Council for Economic Cooperation with Japan under the Ministry for Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine and the Committee for Business Cooperation with Ukraine of Keidanren Japan Business Federation.

They also discussed the enhancement of cooperation with the Government of Japan and Japanese business in the implementation of large-scale projects in Ukraine in the sphere of infrastructure development, energy, environmental protection, information technologies.

The parties also addressed ways of intensification of interpersonal contacts and establishment of direct air transportation services between Ukraine and Japan.
