Real wages in Ukraine in October 2020 compared to October 2019 increased by 10.6%, compared to September 2020 by 0.5%, the State Statistics Service has said.
The service said the average nominal wage of full-time employees in October compared to September of this year increased by 1.5% and year-over-year (October 2020 to October 2019) by 13.5%, amounting to Hr 12,174.
The department said that in October of this year the average nominal wage was Hr 11,998, in August Hr 11,446, in July Hr 10,804, in June Hr 11,579, in May Hr 10,542, in April Hr 10,430, in March Hr 11,446, in February Hr 10,847, and in January Hr 10,727.
According to the statistics department, the largest increase in the average wage of full-time workers in October 2020 compared to October 2019 was observed in Chernivtsi and Kherson (by 20.9%), Rivne and Mykolaiv (by 19.7%), Zakarpattia (by 19.1%), Ivano-Frankivsk (19%), Kirovohrad (18.9%) Ternopil (18.4%), Zhytomyr (16.7%), and Luhansk (16%) regions.
The highest level of wages in the past month was observed in Kyiv city at Hr 17,494, the lowest in Volyn region at Hr 9,926.
In October 2020, compared to the same month in 2019, wages increased in healthcare by 54%, provision of other services – by 42.1%, in the field of arts, sports and entertainment – by 35.4%, education – by 17.7%, information and telecommunications – by 17.6%, in professional, scientific and technical activities – by 15.7%, in construction – by 9.8%, in agriculture – by 9.5%, in public administration and in the sphere of defense, compulsory social insurance – by 9.1%, in the field of administrative, auxiliary services and education – by 8.7%, at industrial enterprises – by 8.6%, in real estate operations – by 6.5%, financial and insurance activities – by 4.8%, in transport, warehouse, postal and courier operations – by 4.2% and in the sphere of wholesale and retail trade – by 4%.
The salaries of workers in the field of temporary accommodation and catering decreased 0.1%.
