You're reading: Registrations of new passenger cars in Ukraine 3 percent down in January-April

The primary registrations of passenger cars in Ukraine fell by 3 percent in January-March 2019 year-over-year, being 25,300 cars, the Ukrautoprom association has reported.

“Despite the fact that the April result, compared with 2018, grew by 1 percent, to 6,900 cars, March remains the most fruitful month of the current year, with the figure of 7,300 new cars registered,” the association said on its website.

Last month, Renault cars enjoyed the highest demand, registrations of which increased by almost 65 percent, to 1,114 units. Toyota took second place, which sales increased by 13 percent, to 963 new cars.

With the result of 638 cars and more than double growth by April 2018, KIA entered the top three of the month, and Skoda ranked fourth with 553 cars (a rise of 44 percent).

Nissan was fifth. Its car sales increased by 4 percent, to 424 cars.

In April, the top ten also included: Hyundai with 378 cars (a fall of 14 percent); Suzuki with 265 cars (a rise of 50 percent); Volkswagen with 237 cars (a drop of 61 percent); BMW with 208 cars (an increase of 38 percent) and Mazda with 204 cars (a fall of 31 percent).
