MOSCOW – Ships stationed at the Leningradskaya Naval Base have had successful artillery firing, mine, torpedo, and minesweeping drills in the Gulf of Finland, the Baltic Fleet’s press service said in a statement seen by Interfax on June 22.

“Artillery firing at various types of actual airborne and seaborne targets has been performed, in addition to depth bombing, submarine chase, mine, torpedo, and minesweeping drills,” the statement said.

The scheduled exercise in the Gulf of Finland involved over ten warships and support vessels.

“For security purposes, a danger warning was issued for civil aircraft and vessels passing through the naval training area. Ships and support vessels of the Baltic Fleet provided security during the training period,” the statement said.
