The Russian retail chain MERE will stop operating in Ukraine, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Oleksiy Danilov has said.

“I assure you that the MERE Russian retail chain will not operate in Ukraine,” Danilov said during a briefing following the NSDC meeting on Sept. 17, explaining the clarification that the stores of this chain are still operating in Bila Tserkva of Kyiv region and in Pavlohrad of Dnipropetrovsk region, despite the earlier assurances of the NSDC secretary that they would be closed.

The Russian discounter chain MERE is a project of the owners of the Russian chain Svetofor.
