You're reading: Selection of new PrivatBank head extended until mid-Sept

The approval of the new board chairman of PrivatBank (Kyiv) has been extended until the middle of September, the bank has said in a press release.

“At present the negotiations with candidates from the preliminary short list are underway. However, the vacation period contributes to it – not all members of the supervision board are staying in Ukraine, and they cannot gather together earlier than the first ten days of September,” the HR expert from Amrop in Ukraine Svitlana Roschupkina said.

She also said that at the first phase a preliminary list of candidates for the two posts – board chairman and financial director – was created from the entire pool of candidates. The list contains 13 candidates from Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Czechia, Latvia, Italy and Ukraine. This list has been presented to the supervisory board of PrivatBank for further discussion.

As reported, PrivatBank board chairman Oleksandr Shlapak late June announced his intention to terminate his anti-crisis term in the bank. He has submitted the relevant statement to the bank supervisory board, it could be considered at the next meeting of the bank’s supervisory council at the end of July.
