Ukraine in 2018 increased electricity exports by 19.3 percent (999.4 million kWh) compared with 2017, to 6.166 billion kWh, the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry has told Interfax-Ukraine.

Electricity supplies from the Burshtyn TPP energy island in the direction of Hungary, Slovakia and Romania increased by 21.1 percent (662.1 million kWh), to 3.800 billion kWh.

Electricity exports to Poland rose by 57.6 percent (515.4 million kWh), to 1.410 billion kWh.

Electricity supplies to Moldova amounted to 955.8 million kWh, which is 15.7 percent (178.1 million kWh) less than in 2017.

In 2017 and 2018, Ukrainian electricity was not exported to Belarus and Russia.

At the same time, in December 2018, the export of Ukrainian electricity amounted to 526.9 million kWh, which is 14.9 percent more than in the same month last year (458.7 million kWh).

In addition, last year Ukraine imported 30.678 million kWh of electricity (from the Russian Federation 29.49 million kWh, Belarus some 1.188 million kWh).
