Ukraine’s largest air carrier, Ukraine International Airlines (UIA), will relaunch regular air travel between Kyiv and Odesa starting from June 5.

In its June 3 press release, the company said there would be a total of two flights from the capital city to Odesa on June 5 and 6 and also two flights back to Kyiv on June 8 and 9, respectively.

According to the statement, tickets are available for booking on the UIA website or via the carrier’s hotline.

“The airline is glad to give passengers an opportunity to make it to the Black Sea the fastest way possible,” UIA said.

“But it asks them to remember the necessity of following the quarantine rules and having personal protection gear — face masks — as well as the necessity of maintaining social distancing at the airport.”

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced that the government had given the green light to resuming domestic air travel starting from June 5. International flights are expected to be resumed on June 15.

Ukraine suspended all regular passenger air transportation starting from midnight on March 17 to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Only special repatriation or charter flights took place during this period.
