You're reading: Ukraine sees gas production rise by 4 percent in 2017

Production of natural gas in Ukraine in 2017 increased by 4 percent (by 804.3 million cubic meters) compared to 2016, to 20.791 billion cubic meters, the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry has told Interfax-Ukraine.

According to the ministry, the enterprises of Naftogaz Ukrainy last year increased gas production by 2.9 percent (by 453.2 million cubic meters), to 16.353 billion cubic meters. In particular, PJSC Ukrgazvydobuvannia increased gas production by 4.4 percent (by 640.7 million cubic meters), to 15.243 billion cubic meters, while PJSC Ukrnafta reduced it by 15.1 percent (by 196.2 million cubic meters), to 1.101 billion cubic meters. In 2017 PJSC Chornomornaftogaz produced 8.7 million cubic meters of gas.

Other oil and gas producing companies operating in the country in 2017 increased gas production by 8.6 percent (by 351 million cubic meters) compared to 2016, to 4.438 billion cubic meters.
