Public joint-stock company Ukrposhta plans to open around 100 new format departments and restyle 300 existing departments in 2018, Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelyan said during a tour in the restyled department of the company.

“The standard that we are seeing here today will be throughout Ukraine. We plan to open about 100 departments across the country this year. We buy new equipment, new trucks and conquer the market,” he said.

In turn, acting Director General of Ukrposhta Ihor Smeliansky said that this year from 48 to 50 restyled offices will appear in Kyiv.

“The offices of the new format for us as are a test platform. I promised that there will be fitting rooms for those who order clothes on the Internet in our offices,” he said, commenting on the innovations.

Smeliansky also said that there will be no obsolete equipment in the new format offices. He said that the mobile application from Ukrposhta is planned to be launched in April.

According to him, a major overhaul and the subsequent launch of the office in Kyiv located at 102, Velyka Vasylkivska Street cost the company Hr 3 million. At the same time, Smeliansky found it difficult to voice the total amount of funds needed to repair and build offices in 2018.

“It often costs us from Hr 50,000 to 100,000 to start a new office, but it’s more difficult to repair, but we are trying to choose premises that are in good condition to repair,” he said.

According to Smeliansky, departments operating in the new format significantly increase the volume of customer service and reduce the processing time for parcels.
